How to Descale a Keurig Coffee Maker

o    Freshwater 

o    Access to a sink

o    Water Filter Refill Cartridges

Step 1: First, unplug the machine. It is a simple but important step.

Step 2: Wash the removable parts. 

Step 3: Remove the water reservoir and lid, mug stand, and the K-cup holder. Wash these pieces in warm water and dry.

For this, take the same amount of water and vinegar. Then mix them and boil the mixture and start cleaning. Do not forget any part of the machine. If the strains are severe, simply add more vinegar in it.

Step 4: Return all the removable parts and plug in the machine. Then run the machine. Start the brew cycle. Repeat till the reservoir is empty, discard the mug contents after each brewing cycle.

Replace the water filter container to keep your coffee fresh every other month. Start by soaking a cartridge in freshwater for five minutes, then rinse it for 60 seconds. Then wash the mesh of the lower filter holder.

And insert the cartridge into the upper filter holder and shatter the lid. Finally, put it back into the reservoir and lock it into its place.

How to descale a Keurig using a descaling solution?

Perform the same steps described above to descale the coffee maker, but instead of using vinegar, fill the reservoir with a bottle of Keurig’s descaling solution. Before moving on to the next step, fill the empty descaling solution bottle with water and pour that into the reservoir as well.

Push the “brew” button to perform a cleansing brew into a ceramic mug. At this point, let the Keurig rest for 30 minutes.
